Phlox ‘Violet Pinwheels’ Creeping Phlox

Phlox ‘Violet Pinwheels’ Creeping Phlox

Notched, upturned petals like tiny pinwheels are intensely violet purple. The whimsical starry flowers will spin their bold shot of color for 4-5 weeks. Light repeat blooming can occur later in the season.

The best of two worlds, these spring charmers have native parentage and beautiful spring performance. Resembling Creeping Phlox but blooming a week earlier and with larger notched flowers that blanket a slightly mounded profile. Phlox Violet Pinwheels was developed by Dr. Jim Ault from the Chicago Botanic Garden. A cross of Phlox bifida and Phlox kelseyi, the foliage is soft to the touch and spreads politely for a stunning groundcover.
