Calling all boxwood lovers! We have an extra special variety that'll take your collection to the next level. Little Missy Boxwood (Buxus microphylla 'Little Missy') very well could be what your garden has been missing.
Gone are the days of less than full hedges. This broad-leaved evergreen has smaller leaves that grow tightly packed together. Often, new growth will flush chartreuse before settling into its deep green color.
This low growing, low maintenance shrub is revered by growers across the country for its exceptional resistance to common boxwood diseases.
Little Missy has a compact mounding habit that makes it perfect for your low to the ground informal hedges.
Use them in places where other shrubs might be munched on by deer. These seem to be left alone for the most part by our four-legged grazing friends.
Like other evergreens, the dark green foliage will keep its pleasing coloration throughout winter. Giving gardens additional interest in the colder months while the rest of the plants are sleeping.
During the summer, it'll be visited by its fair share of beneficial pollinators who dig the plant's small yellow flowers.
