Japanese Maple - Pixie

Acer palmatum Pixie is like a miniature version of the Japanese maple Bloodgood. Pixie is a very nice red leaf dwarf maple that has leaves very similar to Bloodgood in that they are a bright red in spring gradually changing to deep red throughout the summer and bright scarlet in autumn. Pixie is one of Mendocino Maples favorite red leafed Japanese maples. Pixie will grow to about 6 -7′ high and about 6-7′ wide. Pixie can handle a lot of sun but give afternoon shade in real hot climates. Pixie is cold hardy and can handle down to zone 5, -15° F.
